I build the website first.

Then you look at it. If you like it, you pay for hosting. If not, you owe nothing.

The arrangement.

I build it.

You tell me about the business. I write, design, and build the whole site. No deposit, no contract.

You look at it.

The finished site, live on a real URL, on your own phone. Not a mockup and not a slideshow.

You decide.

Keep it and hosting is Price needed a month. Walk away and there is no invoice.

You’ll be working with me.

I’m Ethan, and I design and build every site myself from a home office, with no subcontractors and no account managers between you and the work.

I’ve shipped one product so far, Cooperative Compass, and I’m taking on a small number of local business sites while that’s still true. That’s why I can build yours before you pay for anything.

If a site isn’t good enough to keep, better that shows up before an invoice does than after.

Cooperative Compass

Homeschool co-ops used to run everything through spreadsheets: enrollment, class capacity, waitlists, semester planning. I built Cooperative Compass to replace that with one system that organizers with no technical background can run themselves, from family profiles through teacher attendance.

What you get

Everything a local business site needs, nothing it doesn’t.

The site.

Pages, structure, copy, mobile, contact form. Built for you, not from a template you have to fill in.

Local SEO.

LocalBusiness schema, service area pages, structure that matches how people actually search for your trade.

Speed.

Static HTML on a global edge network, with a performance budget checked on every deploy. The numbers at the top of this page are from this build.

Aftercare.

Hosting, edits, and monitoring for the monthly fee. No per change invoices.

Questions I get asked.

What’s the catch?

There isn’t one you can’t see. Building the site is how I get hosting clients, so I only get paid if it’s good enough that you keep it. That lines up what’s good for you with what’s good for me.

What does hosting actually cost, and what does it cover?

Hosting is Price needed a month, and it coversCoverage needed. You can cancel any month if it stops making sense for the business.

Who owns the site?

You do. The domain and the content are yours from the day you launch. If you ever want to leave, I hand over what you need to move to another host without a fight.

How long does it take?

Turnaround runs Range needed, depending on how quickly you get me the details for the business. I’ll give you a real estimate for your project on the call, not a generic promise up front.

Who writes the copy?

I write a first draft from what you tell me about the business, then send it back for you to correct anything I got wrong. If you already have copy you like, send it over and I’ll use it instead.

What if I want changes later?

Small edits and updates are covered by the monthly hosting fee, within reason. Bigger additions, like a new page or a new feature, get scoped and priced separately before I start.
